My Amdocs Experience.

Written exam

C/C++ (I opted for C.. as i dint know java and it seemed easier than C++) - Don't under-estimate these people .. try to get more and more knowledge.. If you want to get through this section the logical ability alone wont get you in !! Don't just settle down with usual concepts. You need yo be prepared for uncommon syntax in C/C++ ... e.g arguments accepted by main().
Unix - this is quite simple .. just the knowledge of commands will do !! i think there were just 10 questions !!
Sql - this is a time consuming section ... though the queries were not that difficult .. but the queries were lengthy .. so try to practice more and more on this section , so that .. you just see the important part in the query .. and there were few questions in which we had to find out the correct query in the options .. so had to read all the 4 queries very carefully !! this section was tricky!!
Rest -- Rest of the sections will be a piece of cake !! These will be same as for other companies !!

Technical interview

C/C++ - He will test you with everything he got ... will ask you to write programs ... will test how good you are logically .. they don't want just a solution to the problem .. they ll be seeking a GOOD solution !!! Don't talk bookish with them !! They will ask conceptual questions .. virtual function, new, delete etc .. be prepared for that !! You should also know the implementation of of each of them !! how is that gonna affect the memory and processing power of the cpu !! in short : You should know everything about what you ll be speaking.
Unix : All the commands, A little bit of shell-scripting knowledge (its easy don't worry), and Unix as an operating system and its benefits over windows ... try to be reasonable why u like windows or unix ! (they asked me which one would i choose for my company... i answered diplomatically)
Sql : Mere Sql wont do.. you need to know the functions used in it .. eg. decode, instr, nvl etc ... also the more PL/SQL you know .. the more you ll be in advantage over others !! i read Ivan Bayross ( google it .. spellings may be wrong)
Rest is your presentation skills !! be polite .. and don't argue .. !! try to be witty !!

HR interview

They ll check how honest and innovative you are .. they asked us what can u invent if u are given a chance !!
When i was interviewed .. the interview was all about my strengths and weaknesses that i wrote in my resume !! they ll get to know if you are telling the truth or not !! So even when one don't have any significant achievement, one should not lie at all.
They try to judge how are you as a person. Will you be suited to their company culture. Amdocs has an open culture. Just try to be yourself.
They asked me that what do you want to do in life .. DON'T say that you want to do MBA (even if you want to). That ll be seriously against your chances of getting selected.

Just take care of such things !! and do read other interview experiences on Internet as well !! You are definitely gonna make it !! Believe in the man in the mirror and Be yourself !! That's enough (and that's what most of the applicants don't do) !!
